THANK YOU, Prairielands Feeds Management and Clientele,

AND to Diego, Rocky and Butter's Adoptive Families (for loan of your horses!)

For Making Pet Fair 2004 Such a Successful Fundraiser for Crosswinds!

The Crosswinds crew could not be more proud ... Prairieland Feeds, a long time supporter of not only our rescue but nonprofit animal groups all over, graciously allowed us to provide pony, horse, and draft rides at their 14th annual Pet Fair!

We had an AMAZING TIME! We raised more than $1100!, not including Dee Kroner of Unsickers' donated 10 bags of feed! (Thanks so much, Dee!) We gave approximately 500 mini/pony/draft rides, and also received at least $100 in additional cash donations. Thanks to this great promotion, we raised more than $500 for our building project, and we were able to purchase 10 bags of sweet feed, 10 bags of Born to Win (specialty feed for Bob and overweight horses to come into our program), 2 bags of Mare n Maintenance (specialty feed for Buster), and 35 bags of Strategy!! We also got 4 free bags, thanks to Purina's Buy-10-Get-1-Free program. This will be enough feed to hold us most of this winter.

We cannot begin to thank Gary and the Prairielands Team, or their fantastic clientele, nearly enough for this incredible generosity. The added visibility is priceless, and the funds raised will make a world of difference this winter for our horses.

"I have always liked horses but was always a little afraid of them as a kid, however I have been around some horses a lot in the past year and have enjoyed them. When I saw the add for the horses, etc. being at Prairieland Feeds I just had to come and see them and when I was told I could ride the big draft horse I was ecstatic! I am learning to live life to it's fullest and anytime I have the chance to do something exciting that I've not done before, I try to do it!

I am fast approaching 60 and that was a first for me. Needless to say I enjoyed it very much. I'm even toying with the idea of taking horseback riding lessons so that I can go places and enjoy horseback riding (like on vacation, etc.)
