 Pet Fairs EVER!

The Crosswinds crew is thrilled and excited to again be "headliners" at the 2009 Prairieland Feeds Pet fair, dated Sept 26/27, '09!

We raised nearly as much in 2009 as we did in 2008 -- and AGAIN were able to PURCHASE MORE THAN TWO TONS OF PURINA FEED, thanks to YOUR generosity and support!!!

What's a Pet Fair you ask? It's a fabulous community event.  If you've never been to the PLF pet fair, you are truly in for a treat! The area's premier Purina Home store -- with feed, pet supplies, and oh so much more -- holds a 2 day extravaganza with not only fantastic prices, but also...

  • Ride a Budweiser Clyde, courtesy of CWER! and others as well... (minimum donation required) 
  • Face Painting, courtesy of CWER! (minimum donation required)
  • Enjoy a fabulous petting zoo!
  • visit with big cats from Indiana's Exotic Feline Rescue
  • see wonderful rehabilitating animals from U of I's wildlife rescue team
  • talk with reps from numerous companies whose products are sold at PLF
  • tables and talk time with many other area charities
 Want to help next year?
We ALWAYS need volunteers to assist!
Need no horse experience to help at Petfair!

Horse-savvy volunteers will aid by leading horses  / ponies for riders, and answering questions along the way.  Also answer questions on our programs, our adoptable horses, and more.

Not horse savvy? No problem! non-horsey helpers are also needed to direct people to the right lines, take tickets, help with children and cameras, etc.

Last year, the donations were enough that WE BOUGHT TWO TONS OF FEED!

Every year we have an amazing time. The crowds love visiting with our animals, and it is a fantastic chance for folks to learn more about who we are and what we do. Never been close to a horse in your life? come talk, visit and pet. Want a lifetime memory with your children, grandchildren, parents, etc? Be sure to bring a camera and snap a group photo with 1 or several riding Tessa the clydesdale.

We cannot begin to thank Gary and the Prairielands Team, or their fantastic clientele, nearly enough for this incredible generosity. The added visibility is priceless, and the funds raised will make a world of difference this winter for our horses.
