Interested in getting a detailed look at how we train? Be sure to visit Cheveyo's page -- the completely wild mustang who, in 30 days, was riding, indoors and out, and doing pretty much everything else we ask of him, all without force, without fear.

INTRODUCTORY RATES:

Our summer 2008 rates for this new service are minimum donations of:

  • $400 per month basic training;
  • includes farrier/hoof care training and one free trim;
  • includes trailer loading training;
  • experienced in teaching everything from ground manners through basic hunt seat, dressage, trail riding or simply pleasure riding;
  • we provide feed if using a grain we already have; otherwise, owner provides feed;
  • we provide pasture if hay is not needed and horse is used to 24/7 grass access. If hay is required, owner provides hay.
  • Owner is welcome to be actively involved in training sessions, and ongoing exercises for home can be provided if desired.

At this time, CWER takes only one training project at a time. Your horse isn't #17 on some trainer's to do list each day! Your project is OUR project; your goals for your horse are our goals!

HISTORY:

AnnMarie Cross, CWER president, was taught to train show jumpers under a nationally recognized trainer in the '80s, and has been training clients' horses on and off ever since.

AnnMarie has taught Mike, Tory and Gerry Cross all to train horses in the same gentling "no resistance" style, and Mike has self-studied extensively on the many natural horsemanship trainers to help expand and round out AnnMarie's instruction.

The Cross family trainers focus on rehabilitation and retraining for CWER's horses every day. Let those years of experience help you to help your horse, whether there are bad behaviors, training problems, or simply starting or teaching him something new!

Since Mike Cross is a professional farrier, hoof care is a key focus for our trainees, and you'll be pleasantly surprised with the hoof care skills your horse will learn in our care, GENTLY and without force or fear!

Training projects have ranged from riding training for a 17+ hand Belgian to ground/in-hand show training for a 2 year old registered Fresian mare who placed first at her debut Keuring (Fresian ranking show).
